GIACC’s ultimate aim is the achievement of a corruption-free society.
This requires each key participant in society to act ethically and take appropriate and effective anti-corruption action. Depending on the participant, these include:
refusing to participate in corruption
raising awareness about corruption
taking effective steps to prevent corruption occurring
if corruption does occur, taking effective steps to investigate and prosecute it.
These actions can be likened to the construction of anti-corruption pillars which support a corruption-free society. The absence of, or weakness in, these pillars result in a corrupt society.
