Module 9: Project contractual structure, rights and obligations
Project participants: Project owner
The project owner owns the project which is being constructed, and contracts with other project participants in order to have the project designed and constructed.
The project owner can be known by different titles: e.g. employer, client.
In the public sector, the project owner could be, for example:
the Ministry of Roads, or Road Authority, which requires a public road to be constructed
the Ministry of Finance which requires an office block to be constructed for its personnel.
In the private sector, the project owner could be, for example:
an oil and gas company which requires a drilling platform to be constructed
a property investment company which requires a shopping centre to be constructed.
