Controls on procurement personnel
Instil an ongoing culture of integrity in the procurement department.
Appoint appropriately senior, qualified, and experienced management who will have oversight over procurement.
Vet procurement personnel to ensure their integrity and commitment to complying with the anti-corruption policy and ACMS.
Procurement personnel declare any potential or actual conflicts of interest in a register. Failure to do so is a disciplinary offence.
Personnel with a conflict of interest must not participate in any conflicted transaction.
Train procurement staff to ensure expertise in relevant procedures, and awareness of corruption risks, preventive actions and penalties.
