Controls on procurement personnel

  • Instil an ongoing culture of integrity in the procurement department.
  • Appoint appropriately senior, qualified, and experienced management who will have oversight over procurement.
  • Vet procurement personnel to ensure their integrity and commitment to complying with the anti-corruption policy and ACMS.
  • Procurement personnel declare any potential or actual conflicts of interest in a register.  Failure to do so is a disciplinary offence.
  • Personnel with a conflict of interest must not participate in any conflicted transaction.
  • Train procurement staff to ensure expertise in relevant procedures, and awareness of corruption risks, preventive actions and penalties.
