Module 5:  Preventing corruption in project procurement

Reporting and investigation

  • The procuring organisation should:
    • Implement a system by which suspected corruption in relation to the procurement process can be reported.  This system should:
      • be widely publicised so that personnel, bidders, and, in the case of a public sector project, members of the public, are aware that it exists
      • encourage reporting
      • allow anonymous and confidential reporting
      • make all reasonable efforts to ensure the confidentiality and safety of those who have reported.
    • Investigate appropriately any suspected or actual corruption which is reported or identified.
