Module 6:  Preventing corruption in project construction

Transparency

  • In the case of a public sector project, the project owner should establish a public website on which it promptly discloses information relating to the project, including:
    • contract details (contract terms, price, drawings, specification, programme)
    • major sub-contractors, suppliers, consultants and agents
    • beneficial ownership of project participants
    • variations to the contract and rate adjustments
    • construction progress, extensions of time and delay damages
    • claims, defects, court proceedings
    • payments
    • audit and independent monitor reports.
  • The more information that is publicly available, the greater the opportunity for personnel, business associates, or members of the public to report suspicious circumstances.
